The InBody assesses body composition by using bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA). BIA uses a low-grade electrical current sent through your body to measure your body composition. It uses an 8-point tactile electrodes with no empirical estimations.

    This machine measures:

    • Total body water
    • Lean Body Mass
    • Muscle and Skeletal Mass
    • Fat Mass
    • Visceral Fat Area
    • Body Fat Percentage
    • Segmented Lean Analysis per limb and body
    • Basal Metabolic Rate
    • Keeps track of previous history to compare your results

    Protocol for the InBody Testing

To ensure accurate results, please attempt to maintain similar testing conditions:

    1. Ideally perform the Inbody test first thing in the morning OR refrain from eating or drinking 3-4 hours before testing.
    2. Refrain from taking diuretics such as caffeine, alcohol, and medications affecting body water before testing.
    3. Do not exercise, take a shower, or use a sauna right before testing.
    4. Stand still for approximately 5 minutes before testing.
    5. Use the bathroom prior to testing.
    6. Wear light weight clothing (ex. Sports bra and shorts) for the test and remove all metals.

    Please note:

    1. People with electric medical devices such as a pacemaker or any metallic supports should NOT be tested.
    2. Women who are pregnant are not recommended to do the InBody test.
    3. Women who are menstruating are not recommended to do the InBody test, as the retention of fluids can compromise the accuracy of the test.

A scan takes just 60 seconds, users simply step on the device and hold the hand electrodes to test, and it will instantly print your results on paper for you to keep. Once your report is printed, a Nutrition by Michelle staff will go through the results with you.

Michelle's program is one of a kind. She supports healthy weight loss while encouraging you to be an active participant in the process. I have learned so much about healthy eating and how to make better choices in food/meal/snack selections. The importance of water intake cannot be understated throughout the program. The recipes I have taken away from her program have been phenomenal and have become a staple in our household. I have completed three full programs and am currently in my fourth program and enjoying every single minute of it. It is not a chore to meal prep and eat healthy, it has become my way of life. I am healthier for being a member of Nutrition By Michelle.
